I talk a lot about the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids and the need to take Omega-3 supplements. But, why not boost your omega-3 intake even further with some delicious salmon cooked at home. Here is a great recipe you might want to try.
Baked Salmon with Dill Mustard Sauce1 (2- to 3-pound) salmon fillet, 1 1/2-inches thick
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil.
Coarse kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley leaves
2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
2 tablespoons minced fresh dill weed
2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line the bottom of an ungreased baking pan with aluminum foil. Wash salmon and pat dry. Rub with olive oil, sprinkle with coarse salt and pepper, and place skin-side down onto rack.

In a small bowl mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, parsley, Dijon mustard, dill weed, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
Bake salmon, uncovered, 12 to 15 minutes or until a meat thermometer registers an internal temperature of 140 to 145 degrees F (salmon will be slightly opaque in thickest part). NOTE: During this time the salmon continues to cook (meat temperature will rise 5 to 10 degrees after it is removed from the oven) and the juices redistribute. Carefully remove salmon from pan and transfer onto individual serving plates. Serve with the cold mustard dill sauce. Makes 4 to 6 servings. This will taste great and help you get more omega-3 oils. Keep taking those wellness supplements.
Here are some of the risks we take if we don’t get adequate/optimal levels of specific vitamins:
Folic Acid, B6, B12 - Low levels are a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, neural tube defects, colon and breast cancer.
Vitamin D – Low levels contribute to osteoporosis and bone fracture
Anti-oxidants – Low levels of vitamins A, E and C increase risk for several chronic diseases
It’s easy to get optimal levels of all the essential vitamins by simply taking a daily nutritional supplement.
Find one that is produced using the highest quality-control standards, and the most effective natural ingredients derived from the best nutritional sources making it a truly natural vitamin supplement.
The average American diet consists of lots of convenience foods high in calories and low in nutritional values. The result is vague health complaints called “subclinical” or marginal deficiencies. Do any of these seem familiar to you?
Nervousness, listlessness, recurring minor infections, general aches and pains, difficulty concentrating, irritability, depression, muscle weakness, fatigue, insomnia, and just not feeling right.
Taking a vitamin and mineral nutritional supplement will help to prevent these conditions. If you are now suffering from any similar complaints, there are herbal remedies to put things right. I can personally attest to their success in correcting conditions such as those mentioned above.
If you’re like most Americans, you probably eat way too much convenience food, which is high in calories and low in nutritional values. A recent survey of 20,000 people by the Dept of Agriculture demonstrated that not a single person was consuming an adequate level of vitamins and minerals. It’s obvious that we all need to be taking a daily supplement to ensure we are getting adequate nutrition. A natural vitamin supplement should be an everyday habit just like brushing your teeth. Whether it’s an herbal supplement or a natural vitamin product, we all need to be taking them to prevent a multitude of health issues.
For the past 50 years, most of the medical establishment has denied that we need any vitamin/mineral supplements. Now, that has changed! Both the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association have reversed their opinions on that subject. They have concluded that we don’t get the opimal amount of all vitamins by diet alone, which leads to the onset of chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis.
I’ve been taking nutritional supplements since the early seventies and feel confident that it has protected me from a variety of health problems.
I can give you a list of 22 reasons why we don’t get the vitamins and minerals we need from diet alone.
Herbal supplements have gone a long way to change how we feel about preventative medicine. Based on an assessment of your body right now, a can tell you what vitamin is deficient in your system.
If you fill in the gaps and essentially, make yourself ‘whole’ then the problems that are associated with that lacking will not be a problem. You can be the healthiest you ever were if you only listen to your bodies’ needs and resolve them before it is too late.
With the focus on the environment lately, the grip the pharmaceutical companies are having on consumer culture and therefore the health of the American people is lessening everyday. People are wondering how something could be created that destroys their life source, as in the air, water and forests that sustain existence, could be such a good thing for our health as a whole. The answer is that medicines designed to keep to taking medicines are not a positive thing in our lives and should be avoided as much as possible.
The pharmaceutical industry wants to keep us sick so that their pockets bulge out with money. Let’s get well. Preventative medicines in the form of herbal remedies are available to the public so that we can catch our diseases before they happen and continuously prevent them from becoming a factor in our lives. Be healthy all the time, not just as a side note when we are sick.
Recent studies have shown that lifestyle changes along with natural supplements are much more effective in lowering cholesterol and triglycerides than prescription statin drugs. Why not try natural herbal remedies to keep your cholesterol levels in check? Less side effects, less cost. I personally had my cholesterol levels go completely off the chart (950) and was able to get them down under 200 in 8 weeks using herbal remedies.
