There are multiple factors that contribute to acne: genetics, hormones, certain medications, stress and bacteria, to name a few. Acne results when bacteria, dead skin, dirt and oil become trapped in the pores. Typically, blemishes consist of whiteheads or blackheads, and can be accompanied by redness, peeling, changes in skin texture and an increase in oil production.

There are several solutions to getting rid of acne, such as all natural skin care products and a better diet.  There are also some commercially available acne medications, but many of them contain chemicals that can be harmful to sensitive skin.

Herbal remedies are very beneficial as they not only to heal the sickness but also treats the root cause of the disease. Even chronic diseases can be healed such as respiratory problem, gastrointestinal disorder, and immune system deficiency by making your body strong and helping in recovery. Herbal medicines are given to heal pain syndromes, neurological disorders, stress related syndromes, heart problems, sexual dysfunction, allergies and immune system deficiencies. They can be given in place of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.

The best thing about these herbal remedies is that they have very less chances of side effects as compared to pharmaceutical medicines. Now people are even opting herbal medicines to treatments such as chemotherapy as they help to reduce the side effects caused by chemotherapy. As everything used is natural; they are safe. Even small treatment such as taking antibiotics can weaken your immune system so herbal medicines can help strengthen your system.

fish-oil.jpgWithout going into a very technical discussion, the bottom line is this:  We consume way too much Omega-6 fatty acids in comparison to Omega-3 fatty acids.  The problem with that is the fact that Omega-6 causes production of inflammatory chemicals whereas Omega-3 causes production of anti-inflammatory chemicals (let me know if you would like a more detailed discussion).

We should be consuming approximately equal amounts of the two fatty acids as did our ancestors in the Stone Age.  The dietary problem; we now overconsume grain products and meat which is raised on grains, both high in Omega 6.  We don’t get enough of the right vegetables and fish to maintain the proper balance of fatty acids.

A very effective way to solve that problem is by adding come omega 3 supplements to your diet.   A fish-oil concentrate supplement with the proper balance of EPA and DPA acids will help to keep your body’s inflammation under control.

healthy-living.jpgHay fever, heart disease, depression, and diabetes…four very different conditions with similarity: Inflammation in the body is at the root of all four. And there’s more; several other chronic illnesses are being linked to the inflammatory process: alzheimer’s, rheumatoid-arthritis, cancer, osteoporosis. Even crow’s feet and laugh lines are due to an inflammatory process in the skin! Celebrity anti-aging doctor Dr. Nicholas Perricone (”The Perricone Weight Loss Diet”, “The Wrinkle Cure”) considers inflammation “the single most powerful cause of the signs of aging.”

Healthy lifestyle habits such as regular exercise, not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, and minimizing stress all help to reduce inflammation.  Even those of us that maintain a “healthy, balanced diet” may not be getting enough anti-inflammatory nutrients. It is a very wise idea to add a daily wellness supplement that provides powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Take care of yourself.
