Tea is a great source of antioxidant. It has a high level of polyphenols that help fight cell-damaging free radicals. Tea prevents the accumulation of free radicals that can lead to heart problems and cancer. A new research also showed that tea can help fight cataract, a primary cause of blindness. Drinking tea can help a person live longer because its antioxidant capacity exceeds that of twenty-one fruits and vegetables.

The four main types of tea are green, black, Oolong and white. They can also be classified according to their varieties: China, India (or Assam), and Hybrid. Black and green teas are especially popular in creating flavored tea. They can taste like fruits, nuts, spices, and even chocolate. Herbal teas are not actually from the tea plant but are also flavorful.

There are a lot of people who love to drink tea. They look for premium tea that will give the best flavor each time they have a cup. They can choose from different kinds of tea like black, green, white, oolong, and herbal teas.

It is important that you brew your premium tea properly. You might have a weak tea when there is too much water or not enough tea leaves. Or you might have a very strong tea when you don’t have enough water or too much tea leaves. It is also important to steep your tea at the recommended time. The flavor is greatly affected when you steep the tea too long or for just a short time. And always use clean and fresh water that has come to a rolling boil.

Tea can nowadays be bought in convenient little packs anywhere, but my father preferred to have his cup the old-fashioned way. He preferred to buy loose leaves and boil them, and then make the most of the leaves with his tea infusers. After pouring it into his favorite cup, he would then take a small block of sugar and place it in the saucer first before finally adding it. He sometimes put in cream or milk, but most of the time it’s just sugar.

He usually has his tea in the morning, while he reads his paper. I jokingly tell him that I’ve been waiting to see him burst his tea out as he reads a shocking news report, but it’s his quiet time so chances are it won’t happen. After reading he’d pour more tea, continue to sit down, and just stay quiet, perhaps pondering on what he has to do for the day.

A long line of research has shown that tea has so many benefits. This probably why people in Europe have developed a habit of drinking their tea regularly; it removes a lot of toxins from the body keeping it in good condition.

Nowadays a new kind of tea habit has formed among tea drinkers — the detox tea habit. It’s a great habit to absorb, really. After all, tea has been proven to have an important role in improving beneficial intestinal microflora, as well as providing immunity against intestinal disorders and in protecting cell membranes from damage. Tea has also well established its effects in normalizing blood pressure, lipid depressing activity, prevention of coronary heart diseases and diabetes by reducing the blood-glucose activity. What a lot of help a cup of tea definitely makes!
